Did swot analysis on a few interactive websites that are related to my final project topic and share the same idea: raising awareness. There are a lots of awareness campaign websites found online, but there are not much interactive websites that raise awareness on certain matter or problem. I have selected a few awareness campaign projects that involve interactions and did a SWOT analysis to find out what are the pros and cons of the projects.
The first project is Cocaine Basement which is a website that tells people information regarding cocaine. This website is a bit different from the others in terms of visuals and interactions as well as the way it is presented to the users. This website uses first person view allow users to imagine as if he/she is in the situation itself.

Another interactive is called Hurt experience which allows user to experience domestic violence victims' experience using real human interviews and video clips.
=================================================================
James Bun 002 is a website that raise awareness on male bowel cancer to the public. It is similar to a static website that provides information on the disease, but the interesting part is it has a narrative/story line that able to interact with audience such as the missions, the characters according to the symptoms of disease. Audience interact with the story line as they will have to find the symptoms if they notice any.

The Planet Zero website is created to tell people about solar energy, it is also an advertising campaign that promote their products created by Nissan Motor co., ltd. Users are allowed to move around the avatar(character) using mouse click and drag, and select the destination they want to proceed.
================================================================
Quit Doing It is a awareness campaign website that advice people quit smoking and also to raise awareness on negative effects on human body to public.

Lastly, the WWF has created an interactive website that talks about Food. It's a simple and visually interesting interactive website that provide information regarding effect our eating habits have on our planet.
To conclude,
I found that most of these interactive websites' threats are similar which is they are worried if the audience will understand or get the message they want to deliver.
They have not many threats such as the competitors as they are doing different campaign on different topics which share similar objective.
I also realised that most of the websites are using real human as the character of the content probably because it seems more engaging than using a cartoon character. They use real human to create immersive environment and simulation which might affect audience's mind and behaviours.
Beside, I also found that some of the websites have changed /turned the character according to the narrative for example in James Bum -002, the characters are actually the symptoms of the disease, as well as, in the Planet Zero website, the characters are designed and named according to the element of nature. These attract audience attention as they will find it interesting and want to continue interact with them.
Lastly, I also noticed that most of these websites have a narrative / story for their content. It has a flow where users can choose to explore the website according to the flow, or not. It is suggested to follow the flow as it helps the users to focus on the content and they are more aware on the information as well as they won't be confused.
